Great food..pricing is great but the staff is awesome!!! I met the owners son..he was there at the store...very humble and polite....parents doing an awesome job! He said he's thankful he can get in good education because his parents works soo hard....so u know they make food from their hearts
I stopped by this place on the spur of the moment with my aunty & uncle and found it quite nice. A sashimi place serving Jjamppong Remen, a spicy noodle soup. To my surprise it turned out good, very tasty. The price was reasonable and it was good amount.
Food was delicious and affordable, and the customer service was great. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Uncle Jack talked story with me and some friends and even brought us out free food!
Chirashi bowl was amazing. Very fresh fish and crab meat. Very good service and after here. They also have grab and go foods in the front. Nicely done on the inside of this restaurant as well.
What a nice little spot for kalbi plus sushi when you just can't decide between them. The menu is basic for both, but the combos are great for a quick lunch or dinner. I had the M1 combo: kalbi plus salmon & ahi nigiri. Kalbi was tender, nigiri was generous (meaning full-sized and not paper-thin). There are also kimchee side dishes you don't always find...squid and negi/daikon were available when I stopped in. I'll go again to try the rest of the menu. Their fish Jun looked ono!
Honu's is still one of my favorite places on island! Amazing food and generous portions at a good price!! I've gotten lucky with parking at this place the last few times I've come, but I really wish the lot was bigger for all the amazing businesses in the complex. It's very bright and clean inside, and the service is always super friendly. They have a few premade items like sushi and poke bowls out in their cooler, but I've never tried it. I got the special plate that came with kalbi, meat jun, fish jun, and mandoo. This is the best meat jun I've had in my life. The meat is so soft and their batter has the perfect of sweetness. I also love their sides, especially the mac salad and japchae. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for something delicious and filling to eat!
Extensive menu to enjoy featuring sushi, sashimi, Korean food, and marinated vegetables. I ordered the Kalbi poke bowl accented with seaweed and other tasty veggies. Efficient service. The manager there was very personable and was a friendly face there. Open design lanai with great tables and chairs to people watch. I opted to sit inside in the air conditioning. Will definitely return to try the other selections.
I have been wanting to try here, so we finally decided on Honu's for lunch. We ordered the #6 Honus special and M3 poke bowl and a side of the $6 sushi roll. Honus special plate was heavy! It came with fish junn, meat junn, mandoo, and kalbi with 4 sides. The plate was good. The M3 poke bowl was ok, I thought the poke was a little too warm for my liking. Service was good, you can dine inside or outside.
What a fun concept... Indeed it really is though this place has been on my long list of places I somehow keep forgetting and am so glad that I didn't remember lol but almost drove right past it as I've been contemplating on dinner for the night. Located on busy Kapahulu in the newly built building along with a few parking making it an easy especially finding street parking here can be tough. Walking up to the restaurant I immediately noticed the outdoor seating which has the chairs chained to the tables...interesting, there's also images of some of the menu items which already has caught my hungry mode and went in to see quite a busy place and since it was about an hour to closing many of the grab and go items we discounted...ooohhh! Out of it all what caught my eye was a Poke bowl layered with salad versus the traditional rice and it was generously topped with spicy ahi and salmon combo originally at $10 was at $8! What a deal though I really came for Kalbi since it's mom's favorite and scanned the menu noticed Naengmyeon & Kalbi Combo which comes with two pieces of Kalbi grilled to a delicious flavorfulness that we both enjoyed (I got just a nibble) the Naengmyeon was the refreshing meal I was craving for without being too heavy though the amount of noodles given was so generous and cooked to a slight al dente perfection. The broth wasn't spicy but had a dollop of spice on top along with daikon, cucumber and half a boiled egg. Everything was packed so nice and thoughtful we really enjoyed it all and will be back again for sure. Thank you!
